Map your Bristol

Map Your Bristol is an online mapping tool that allows you explore and co-create Bristol’s history, heritage and culture through the eyes of local communities. A companion mobile app was also built, which shares data with the website via a custom REST API.

The site aims to be a living archive: a space where stories, memories, images and video are not only collected and stored but are continually accessed and added to. Users can upload and share images, videos and other content to community layers, and can also explore Bristol’s history through a series of historical map layers. Content is also shared with Bristol City Council’s Know your Place website.

The site is built in Drupal, making extensive use of the Leaflet JavaScript mapping libraries.
