Developing a WordPress website to host a digitised version of one of the earliest independent African women’s magazines: AWA: la revue de la femme noire. This involved writing a WordPress plugin to enable the import of approximately 1000 images, extracting IPTC metadata from the source images, and building custom posts within WordPress, adding tags and other metadata to the posts.

You can browse the magazines via a slideshow interface, search for keywords, or view pages which contain specific articles. Custom templates were built as part of a new WordPress theme to enable the various views of the magazine pages.
